National Fast for Immigration Reform

December 12, 2013-Faith and Public Life worked closely with the Fast4Families National Fast for Immigration Reform on the National Mall, a water-only fast for thirty-one days to move members of Congress to pass immigration reform with a path to citizenship. Not only does Thursday, December 12 mark thirty-one days since the Fast for Families campaign launched in front of the US Capitol, but the next phase of the campaign to win justice for immigrants. Before going to The National Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence, Dr. Syeed went to the tents with a few Muslim leaders and expressed solidarity with those who were fasting.
