ISNA Rep Gives Presentation at Wesleyan University
(Plainfield, IN 10/28/14) Last night a representative from the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) gave a presentation on Islam to a criminal justice class at Wesleyan University in Fishers, Indiana.
The presentation consisted of the basic beliefs and practices of Islam as well as tips on how criminal justice professionals can better serve the American Muslim community by understanding the cultural and religious practices that they may encounter.
“We thank Dr. Girod for inviting us to his class,” said ISNA Communications Director Edgar Hopida who was invited as a presenter. ” We hope that our presentation will give a better understanding of the Islamic faith and the American Muslim community.”
This presentation was part of cultural diversity series of guest speakers invited to speak at Dr. Robert Girod’s criminal justice class on their culture or religious tradition.
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is the largest and oldest Islamic umbrella organization in North America. Its mission is to foster the development of the Muslim community, interfaith relations, civic engagement, and better understanding of Islam.
