The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) applauds President Biden’s commitment to diversity. From the outset of his Presidency, we have seen serious action on this matter. President Biden’s administration is diverse compared to previous administrations and his commitment to building a diverse team, which cuts across race, gender, and creed is commendable. We are also proud that President Biden has appointed or nominated many Muslim Americans to key positions and we look forward to hearing more appointments of Muslims in various branches of government to truly reflect the diversity of our nation.

We are delighted to see the appointment of Judge Zahid Quraishi to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Judge Zahid Quraishi, who is of Pakistani ancestry, is the first Asian-American to serve on the federal bench in New Jersey. Judge Zahid Quraishi, a graduate of Rutgers Law School, is a capable and experienced judge, with an unwavering commitment to fairness and justice.

We ask our community to be fully informed and involved in the affairs of our nation and government. We look forward to more qualified and committed Muslims contributing to all branches of the government and other institutions throughout the country. We applaud our President’s actions, which demonstrate his belief in the representation of all Americans and his commitment to building a team to reflect the diversity of our nation.
