A Financial Boost

Each year, twenty scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership experience and volunteer service. The objective is to help students achieve and succeed by giving them support during their first year of college..

Eligibility

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Entering freshman year in college (current high school senior)
  • Any major/field of study
  • American Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Biography of Dr. Abdulmunim A. Shakir

The Dr. Abdulmunim A. Shakir ISNA Scholarship Program was established because of the strong belief in the value of education by Dr. Shakir. He dedicated himself to education and specifically to working with inner city youth, introducing students to Islam and the Arabic language.  He was a true leader and arranged for this scholarship fund to be established to support Freshman students in their first year of higher education.  This program is administered  by ISNA and funded by the Abdulmunim Shakir Charitable Trust.
